Spicy Food Galore
No baby, no baby, no baby. That's what happened this weekend. Despite our best efforts to shake that critter free from the womb, Liz's still pregnant. We travelled back to the scene (mexican food, not New York City) of our the crime which caused Liz's labor with Will, but even a batch of spicey salsa smothering our burritos from Don Pablos on Friday night couldn't do the trick. So we followed that up on Saturday with a trip to Sears, the outlet malls and a dinner at our friend's Jim and Katie Brick. We crashed some sort of family get together to get our forks into some of Jim's famous chicken and andouille sausage (spicy) sauce over pasta. Jim's family members were starting to wager whether there would be some near term labor caused by Jim's liberal use of spices, but we can only report that we left happily well fed. Well...we didn't leave right away. First, I had to hand out some serious pain in Madden 2005 to all the other kids. I only admitted to them after I jumped out to an early lead that I used to write video game reviews. Of course, they all thought that I was the coolest.
Sunday, Will and I checked out the new Pooh Heffalump movie with Jason and Zack. Hoping that leaving Liz alone at home would trigger something, all it did was cause a shortage in chocolate chip cookies and give Liz time to flip between the surgery and home repair channels. Her other activities of napping and vaccuming didn't induce labor, but at least we have clean carpets. Will and I ate our weight in popcorn, and enjoyed another classic tale from the Pooh collection. We switched to bland foods on Sunday night, mainly to avoid a sudden attack of heartburn.
Will stole Jim's football on Saturday, which is currently sitting in the bassinet next to our bed. Right where we hope to put baby #2 in the coming week or two. Stay tuned...
