And So It Goes

Better give proper shout outs to all the delicious grub that has come in to our lives since the baby was born. Fruit/food basket from the Collins clan, fancy-pants cookies from the Shively's, the mouth-watering-coma-inducing spaghetti bake from the Chaffee's, the homemade pasta sauce and dinner complete with thin mints from the Bemms, and of course, the yummy soup, bread and cookies from the Lainsbury's. These treats, combined with the arrival of Liz's mom and her chicken tetrazini, rosemary pork chops and bunny cake, have meant extra trips to the gym for Dad. It's going to be hard for us to settle back in to our frozen pizzas and turkey burger/tator tot rotation once things settle down. It's a good thing that we don't eat like this all the time or I'll be trading in my pants for ones with elastic waist bands.

Yesterday, Liz's sister Jen arrived in town. This, made everyone happy. Jen and Kathy (Liz's mom) are taking Will to see "Robots" this afternoon. Liz will get to do a little shopping with Brian. Me? I go to work. Bleech. I guess someone's got to fund shopping sprees and lavish afternoons watching movies and eating popcorn. But you'll never hear me complain. No siree. It's 3 to 3 men to women in the house right now, but I know when I'm overmatched. Maybe if Will and Brian weren't so gullible and easily entranced by their mom, aunt and grandmother, it would be us guys sitting around a bar, shooting pool talking about sports and shopping for flat-screen TVs while the women went to work. Yeah!

But then again...
